keep original colors with dark mode

dark mode = good idea. not inverting the color hues = bad idea. need to hue rotate 180 degrees after inverting to get the colors to go back to their original hue. kinda obvious. not even remotely worth $25, though. maybe have a lite version for new programmers? it’s just “nice to have” to be able to look up things with your app, vs online (which, i am online 99.9% of the time). oh, and the “R” icon is lame… why not use the offical “R”? you can even grab the icon out of the app package. not hard… developer needs to hire a real graphic designer.

Essential Tool

This app and my text editor are in constant use. I’ve been using this since version 1 and it constantly improves. Love being able to look up documentation without an internet connection and sync the documentation between two machines. Worth every penny and then some.

Couldn’t live without it

Being able to get quick access to documentation for all the languages and libraries I use every day has been an amazing productivity boost. Everything about it is awesome. One of my must-have apps when setting up a new development machine.

Must-have for developers

I cannot count the time this app saved me while working! As a developer its always useful to have a quick (and offline!) access to documentations of the languages/librairies you work the most with. This tool does it amazingly and the integrations are really convenient. Totally worth it

best app for developers or aspiring developers

If you’re a developer or wish to be one - you need this app. Tie the app to a keyboard shortcut, hide it from the dock, and it’ll always be there in the background - waiting for you to need some documentation.

Latest Update

I love Dash and have been using it for over a year, but the latest update completely broke the app on my system. It wont even boot up any more. I tried downloading and installing the app from the website and that seems to work except my lincense is tied to the app store version so I now have the unpaid version. I dont want to buy the app again but the 8 second delay on every search makes the app almost unuseable. I contacted the developer but its been almost a week and no word... Sad because I really like the app and would continue using it. Hopefully this will get resolved. *** UPDATE *** I finally heard back from the developer and he helped me get the issue resolved. I was able to get a license for the app that is not tied to the App store. I updated the rating to 5 stars and will continue to use and recommend the app to other developers. Thanks!

Splendid app! Where has this been all my life?

At last a place where I can keep all the reference docs I need, in my case Java, JavaScript, CSS, Python, Node, Docker, etc… Very nicely searchable, very easy to install, etc..

Love this!

An integral part of my workflow, if you develop on a Mac, you need this app. A+ boys and girls!

Superior documentation browsing

When I search for Postgres docs, I always get the wrong version (likewise Python 3). When I search for JavaScript docs, I get w3cSchools. When I search for Erlang docs, I dont like the page organization. I want a searchable reference, but using Google Search as my index of documentations is often frustrating and slow. Dash gives me a reliable, consistent, fast way to find the documentation I need. I spend less time looking for docs and more time building things.
